Polyol Esters
Introduction
Useful as basestocks for several applications like refrigeration and hydraulic fluids
Salient Technical Features
Karanja/ jatropha oil is split with water and glycerine is separated. Fatty acids are esterified with polyhydric alcohols like trimethylilpropane (TMP), neopentylglycol (NPG) and pentaerythritol (PE) to get corresponding polyol esters
Scale of implementation
1 Kg fatty acid/batch
Major Raw Materials
10-Undecenoic acid, undecanoic acid, karanja and jatropha oil fatty acids and polyols
Techno-Economics and Competitiveness
10-Undecenoic acid, undecanoic acid, karanja and jatropha oil fatty acids and polyols
IPR Details
Process for Polyol Esters of 10-Undecenoic Acid, Undecanoic Acid and Karanja and Jatropha Oil Fatty Acids as Biolubircant Base-stocks
