Description

Over the years, engineers have had great success in regulating unwanted noises created in automobiles/machines. These noise frequencies are caused by vibrations in the machine. Conventional ways for analyzing such vibrations in automobiles involves first calculating the natural frequencies and modes of vibration, and then finding the responses of these modes to approximate the response of the structure. There is an ongoing demand to be able to do this analysis at higher frequencies, and at higher frequencies the issue addressed by this innovation becomes increasingly important. The presence of damping along with high frequency makes this process very expensive and time consuming and could possibly take several days to acquire the correct analysis.

This technology reduces the amount of time required for the analysis of the machine. This new method produce complete analysis within a few hours rather than days and works very effectively even under higher frequencies.

Benefits

  • More thorough analysis can be done in the limited time.

Features

  • Takes only one-tenth of the computer time and yet produces equally accurate results.

Market Potential/Applications

Engineers at automobile companies, who use numerical simulation to evaluate the noise and vibration levels of their cars and figure out how to make them quieter.
