Graphite for Industrial Use
Process
A process for the production of different grades graphite.
Uses
Wide ranging uses in crucible, pencil, electrical and foundry industries.
Salient Features
Simple and low cost process. Different grades of graphite are produced in down stream steps. Recovers as much as possible in flake size in flaky raw graphite. The process can treat flaky, as well as amorphous variety.
Environmental Considerations
There should be well planned disposal of waste and effluents.
Scale of Development
The process has been developed on 20 tpd continuous run pilot plant scale.
Commercialisation Status
- A 10 tpd graphite beneficiation plant for Patna State Mining Company at Titlagarh, Orissa,
- Process know-how, technological flow-sheet and consultancy given to M/s. BSMDC for a 150 tpd graphite beneficiation plant
- A plant to product 50 tpd crucible grade graphite in Banswara, Rajasthan running since 1982.
