Home » Technology » New Technologies » Metal and Metalworking Industry » Eco-friendly Process for Manufacture of High Grade Synthetic Rutile
Introduction
The process aimed at increasing the TiO2 content by (1) high temperature reduction of ilmenite with coal in a rotary kiln (2) leaching of metallic iron from reduced ilmenite route with an accelerated corrosion process in stirred reactor.
The major advantages is the regeneration of iron. And iron oxide without resorting to acid leaching. And acid regeneration thus helping to overcome the problem of acidic effluents also.
