Adsorbent for Used Frying Oil
Technology Description
Innovator has created an adsorbent technology for the purification and re-use of used cooking oil. The bi-layered adsorbent filtration technology is called "RAMPAD," and allows used cooking oil to have significant reduction in free fatty acid value, viscosity, color, peroxide value, total carbonyl value, iodine value, and saponification value.
The motivation for invention was to prolong used cooking oil's lifespan while maintaining high quality in fried foods. RAMPAD adsorbents ensure that fried foods are fried in the healthiest oil possible.
The innovation was designed for manufacturers and producers of fried foods; these companies can save money on cooking oil by recycling it several times.
The cooking oil can be purified using an adsorbent filtration technology and reused several times before it needs to be disposed of.
The adsorbent RAMPAD is put inside of a mesh like depth filter in a cylindrical plastic container, which can be designed to the end user's specifications, and used cooking oil is passed through the adsorbents in the filter.
