Haemostatic Wound Healing Sheet
Introduction
It is a cost effective, biocompatible as well as biodegradable chemically modified fibrin sheet which is prepared by graft copolymerising the firbin film, obtained by during the purified, bleached and masticated fibrin paste with a biocompatible, hydrophilic monomer, followed by optional incorporation of drug and subsequent drying and casting into sheet of desired size and shape. The sheet has potential use as a dressing aid in the treatment of various wounds of diversified nature including external injury, cut, burn and even ulcers in animal as well as human being. It prevents loss of electrolyte from the wound site and also prevents any infection in the wound. The uniqueness of the process lies in the economical utilisation of crude fibrin, which is otherwise thrown as waste, thereby making wealth out of waste.
