UTRTM Computer Software
Description
The program calculates skin factor evolution during an acidizing treatment by measured pressure and injection rate data while pumping. The software can be used to evaluation acid treatment effectiveness, identify damages during injection, and optimize subsequent treatments.
The program is divided into three sections: Pre-Treatment Test to obtain reservoir information such as permeability and initial skin factor Real-Time Monitoring to process the real-time field data and calculate the skin factor at current monitoring time Post-Treatment Study to review a completed acidizing treatment An automatic data acquisition section is built in the program for real-time use.
Benefits
By taking advantage of the real-time evaluation of a simulation treatment, users can avoid the risk of damage by injection of excessive acid or other fluids into the well.
Features
UTRTM was designed to monitor the skin factor evolving in matrix acidizing, and therefore to enhance the effectiveness of the stimulation treatment. The method uses measured pressure and flow rate data to estimate apparent skin factor during an acidizing treatment. The transient flow equation has been used in UTRTM considering variable injection rate during a treatment. The program includes a vertical well model and a horizontal well model. Since the bottomhole pressure is required to calculate skin factor, the program converts surface pressure or annular pressure to bottomhole pressure when bottomhole pressure is not directly measured.
Market Potential/Applications
The software has applications in the petroleum industry.
