Wide Band Phase Sensitive Detector (10 Hz to 100 KHz)
Introduction
This wide band phase sensitive detector (PSD) can be used with any pre-amplifier to make a lock-in amplifier. Its wide frequency response makes it suitable for detection of low amplitude harmonics of signals found in many experiments. It gives both the amplitude and phase of signals, with respect to any coherent signal, on a panel meter. The instrument has been made entirely from indigenous components.
Special Features
Frequency range (±1 dB):10 Hz to 100 kHz. input impedance:more than 500 kilo ohms || 100 pF (both signal and reference channels). normal mode:in lock-in amplifier systems measurements over atleast 4 orders of magnitude of the signal can be made. The output is calibrated in V base(rms) of the a.c. signals. signal amplitude:0.01 to 1V base(rms) FSD. Scale expansion:x1, x3, x10, x30, and x100. Zero offset:0 to ± 10V. Post detection filter constant:10 ms to 100 s in 9 steps of 1, 3, 10 sequence. Output on meter and recorder simultaneously. Maximum input voltage:3V peak to peak. Phase mode:The Phase difference between two coherent signals may be measured in this mode. Reference signal voltage (V base(r)):1V peak to peak; Maximum V base(r) amplitude:3V peak to peak; Minimum phase shift between reference and signal inputs:less than 0.1 degree (with square wave of 1V rms as V base(r))
