Robust Vision Systems for Automatic Recognition of Number Plate of Moving Vehicle

Introduction

Automatic number plate recognition using image processing techniques can be realized using automated number plate reading with high accuracy and low processing time. The technology uses morphological filters based algorithms for segmentation and then making use of moment invariant technique for alphanumeric character recognition.

Algorithm, based on greyscale morphological operations has been used to detect the region of a vehicle number plate from an image moment invariant technique for alphanumeric character recognition to used.
