Niti Aayog Tinkering Lab

Instituted under the Atal Innovation Mission, Atal Tinkering Labs has been established with a vision to ‘Cultivate one million children in India as Neoteric Innovators'. It aims at providing a dedicated workspace or lab to students of class 6 th to 12 th across India so that they get a fair chance to work with tools and equipment that help them understand the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

The objective of this scheme is to foster creativity, curiosity, and imagination in the young minds. It also aims at inculcating skills like adaptive learning, rapid calculations, design mindset, and physical computing.

Schools with minimum 6 th to 10 th grade run by the government, local body, or any private society/trust are eligible for these labs. A one-time establishment cost of Rs.10 lakhs, along with an additional operational cost of Rs.10 lakhs, shall be provided for a period of 5 years as financial support to each lab.
