Artificial Intelligence Based Power Management System

Technology Description

The technology is a hardware/software combination of microprocessors, and artificial intelligence (AI) software that provides artificial intelligence based tools to monitor the power consumption of a device, and predict when it will not be used so that it may be either powered down, or placed in a low power consumption mode.

The system works by profiling or tracking how the users use each machine or device. In the case of a computer, the machine tracks the usage pattern of each user as to when he powers on the device, when it is idle, shuts down or does any other action which affects the power usage of the machine. Based on this data over a period of time, the system creates a prediction chart of the user in which a probability is created on what they could be doing tomorrow at a given time. Based on this, a customized power management profile is created for them for the day ahead. This profile is executed once it is noticed that the pattern is being repeated.

The system is designed to be fully independent so that no server is required for it to run. Also, the system is fully autonomous and can understand when the person changes or when there is a rapid change of pattern from the user's perspective. Moreover, the system can also disable itself upon user request.

The device can be used in an electronic or electrical device, or even be placed in a power cord, although the latter can have issues if the device attached to the cable is not able to work with reduced power. The primary use of the device is as a power supply in computers. The founders have significant levels of experience with AI and have developed several algorithms that they believe suit the power consumption well.
