Technology Description

Many businesses like Railways, Aerospace, and Security agencies suffer huge losses due to bad weather conditions. Our innovation provides a solution to one of such problems, fog. Fog causes degradation of scene quality and interpretation of objects become difficult. We provide a solution to this in the form of a technology which can clean the fog from a video in real time. Using this technology, the user can interpret the scene more clearly and identify objects of interest in the scene. With this technology, all this is done in real-time. This can increase the efficiency of the operation and reduce the risks or dangers at the same time.

There are many algorithms for removing fog from images but not many technologies exist which can do the same from videos. For removing fog from videos in real time, the algorithm needs to be fast enough to accommodate the high frame rate of the videos. Our technology is fast enough in terms of speed and has been tested to real time videos. The fog from videos is removed with almost negligible lag and no stalling of the video is required. Also, the algorithm so far has been the best in terms of performance. We have obtained a patent in the US and South Korea in November 2015 which proves that the technology is competitive.

We have also published a paper on this technology in a peer-reviewed journal which proves the concept has been verified by researchers working in the same area. The patent and papers prove the efficiency of the technology which is our USP, fog-removal from videos in realtime with high efficiency.
