Technology Description

The technology is a software solution which acts as a media wrapper (media player proxy). The technology is a combination media player, monetization channel, and anti-piracy protector. It is able to encapsulate any existing digital media since it works on all platforms (i.e. Flash, Windows Media or MPEG) and deliver it to the end user through its overlaying layer of protection. The entire process is seamless and simple. Once the user has downloaded the innovator's media player, they can watch any protected content and pay for the viewing which would generate money back to the creator.

In essence, the "media wrapper" is the media player which the innovator has developed. The video content creator would send video content to the innovator's website. When the content is processed through the media player, the above stated aspects of this technology (anti-piracy and monetization) would be activated. Any potential viewer of the video content could download the media player and view the content thus providing the video content creator a revenue stream and a method to protect and distribute his content.

The monetization channel operates when the customer downloads the media player. The user would be required to purchase through the innovator's back office which would collect the payment and distribute the royalty to the content provider.

The anti piracy protection is software coding the innovator has created which constantly changes the coding algorithm to prevent theft. The media player has the ability to decrypt the dynamically changing encryption which is embedded in the media. The result is that even if a hacker tries to break through one type of encryption layer, it will not work for the entire video since, after a period of time, it will change to another form of encryption. The hacker wouldn't be able to play the file on another media player because it would not be able to decrypt the content even though it was made with the codec that that player is meant to play.

The software allows video content-owners to copy-protect their content and quickly distribute it worldwide either through downloading or streaming while controlling price and other parameters. Video content-owners can combat piracy of their content, variably price it across different geographies and allow many different forms of payment, including micro-targeted dynamically inserted advertising, which allows the user to watch for free, should that be desired.
