Dry Aerosol Generation/Inhalation System

Home » Technology » New Technologies » Technologies in Health » Dry Aerosol Generation/Inhalation System

Introduction

This system has been developed for generation of dry aerosols from labelled solutions and suspensions and is designed for administering the aerosols to human subjects by normal nose breathing, for clinical studies. It is based on a BARC nebuliser, which generates polydisperse aerosols of small droplet median diameter (2.7 mm at 20 psi) with large aerosol specific output of 23 ml/l of air at a flow rate of 3 lpm. An inhalation of 3-5 minutes of the output aerosols from a 20 mCi solution gives a scintigraph of good information density.
