Home » Technology » New Technologies » Environment and Health Technologies » Radiation Monitor for X and Gamma Rays

Introduction

BARC Radiation Monitor (RADMON) is a G. M. based, battery powered, handheld monitor featuring simultaneous measurements of exposure (upto 2 mSv) and exposure rates (upto 200 mSv/hr). A built-in audio alarm during exposure measurements alerts the user to hazardous condition. The integral exposure alarm level can be preset anywhere upto 2 mSv. The detector is provided with an energy compensating filter so as to achieve an overall response within 20% in the energy range of 60 keV to 1.25 MeV.
