Biogas Plant Operated on Deoiled Cake of Jatropha Seeds

Home » Technology » Biogas Plant Operated on Deoiled Cake of Jatropha Seeds

Introduction

Produce Biogas from mixture of deoiled cake of jatropha and cow dung. Other oil cakes can also be used

Especially in rural areas and for other areas also to produce biogas which can be used for directly cooking purpose and generating electricity and the spent slurry is excellent organic manure.

Advantages:

  • •  Rated Capacity is 6m3/ day. But produces 10 m3/ day in winter and 14 m3/ day in summer

    •  H: D ratio of the digester is 1:1 compared to conventional 1:2.3

    •  Less surface area, thus, less heat loss and higher efficiency (70%)

    •  Posiibility of scaling up to industrial model / community scale

    •  Suitable for higher water table region and hilly area

    •  Less digester volume, less cost, less retention time, less feed requirement, higher methane content in Biogas (72%)  and higher biogas prduction rate

    •  Efficient mixing chamber with evenly distributed spikes

    •  Ground level out let without any pipe and wider slurry tank for faster drying making it suitable as an excellent organic manure

    •  Energy from waste, even adoptable in Farm and remote areas.
