Introduction

The simulation have been developed to evaluate performance of various MAC (Medium Access Control) layer protocols. A new protocol viz. Random Multiple Access Protocol has been developed and analysed. This protocol has further been modified as Hierarchical protocols combinations of (i) RMA and Polling, and (ii) RMA and ALOHA. The simulation developments are also underway to study Wireless Asynchronous Transfer Mode (WATM) networks. The new access mechanisms have been devised for transport of multimedia services on WATM networks.

Special Features

for RMA: Very high throughputs, for WATMs: Considerably low delays

Prospective Users

Networking Companies and Organisations

Keywords

Medium Access Control Protocols, Random Multiple Access (RMA), Wireless ATM
