Introduction

Digested organic supplement (DOrS) is the end product obtained by converting various organic wastes such as agriculture wastes (residues like coir pith, mushroom waste, poultry droppings, animal dung, etc.) into a useable fertilizer by a modified aerobic-cum-anaerobic process of composting. This conversion process is elaborate enough to control and maintain the quality of product and maximise the retension of nutrients. The various organic wastes received from the farms or other sources are segregated and allowed to decompose under controlled conditions and environment by creating an optimal C:N ratio for decomposition. This process is done at the source point itself so that requirement of space at the work site is reduced. On completion of composting, the material is transported to the plant in closed bags.
