Animal Glue

Introduction

The term glue is derived from a latin verb Gluere which means to draw together. The glue is mainly used as an adhesive in many industrial applications. Glue have assumed very important place in the industry. The raw material required for the manufacture of Glue is the animal skin and hides which are the waste product of a tannery and create pollution problems. So a very cheap material is being converted to a useful chemical compound and also helping to reduce the pollution. iAnimal Glue is used in various industries like matches, printer's rollers, textiles, cycles, and sports goods. Printer roller composition manufacturers use this for making extra hard printer rollers. The extra hardness gives longer life. It is used in book binding to maintain right elasticity, resilience, non-warping proporties (to prevent curling on drying) and higher holding capacity of the pages. As regards textile industry it is used for sizing of Rayon Yarn. For this purpose Glue is specially blended.
