Brief Description

The Energy Management System (EMS) is a distributed PC based data acquisition and report generating system for energy conservation in industries.

The system is based around Lonworks based nodes for electrical, physical and digital I/O with standard communication LONTALK protocol and software menus. The system architecture is a Flat Distributed Control System architecture with the hardware and software optimised for Energy Management as shown in Fig. The system can handle measurements from electrical energy transmitters (Energy nodes), oil flow meters, gas flow meters, steam flow meters, temperature transmitters, compressed air flow transmitters (such as Analog I/O nodes or physical nodes), product output transmitters (Digital I/O nodes) etc. The reports can be generated as per the requirement of user either in tabular or in graphical forms. It builds the database for future analysis and target setting for maintenance and energy conservation plans.

Salient Features

  • Lonworks Field bus technology supports various physical media like twisted pair, free topology, power line and RF for communication.
  • Networking of unlimited number of nodes
  • Sub-system developed can be used as stand alone instruments.

Applications

  • Medium and large scale industries
  • Providing comprehensive energy information to plan for energy coservation and to sustain SEC.
  • Watch dog tool for proper maintenance of machineries

Benefits

  • Flexible to use in any Industry with suitable modifications in hardware and software.
