    The Venture Capital Assistance Scheme is one of the best efforts of the Indian government to promote agricultural entrepreneurship in India.

    Venture Capital Assistance is financial support in the form of an interest free loan provided by SFAC to qualifying projects to meet shortfall in the capital requirement for implementation of the project. Individuals, farmers, agri-preneurs, self-help groups, proprietary firms, agriculture graduates, etc. are eligible for loans under this scheme.

    Some of the key objectives of this scheme are:-


    • To promote agricultural entrepreneurship in India
      • To catalyse private investment in setting up of agribusiness projects
      • To strengthen backward linkages of agribusiness projects
      • To assist farmers, producer groups, entrepreneurs etc.
      • To arrange training and visits of agri-preneurs
    • To augment and strengthen existing State and Central SFAC
